A cooperative effort to improve the health care in the 8 villages has made much progress since 2003.

•  Cooperative efforts with the local public hospital and public health system assist with medical and nursing staff up to 3 days a week.
  
• Building and maintaining a health care clinic in the immediate area.
• Training of more than 30 health care workers (brigadistas) who provide basic health care assistance while living in and serving their own villages who are available for crisis triage, referral, and clinic work.
• Direct patient care and education including prenatal help, well child visits, pap smears, and family planning.
• No charge for medical consults and the  medications  given are hugely subsidized.  The patient is seen and receives all needed given medications for less than a $1.
• Provide the local health care facilities with assistance including patient beds, defibrillator, EKG machine, medications, and pulse oxymeters.
• Delegations of doctors and other health professionals come to share their knowledge with health personnel in Nicaragua thus leaving their gifts behind.
• Started rehabilitation programs for children with developmental delays using the health care workers as supports in the villages.
• Provided orthopedic surgeries (mostly for children with club feet) in cooperation with a program called "Amigos for Christ".
