    Saturday morning group in their uniforms.

Each child has his or her own sponsor who they write to twice a year.  Sponsors receive pictures of their sponsored child and may also write letters to the children.

• 24 teachers trained from the villages who in turn teach adult literacy in the villages.
• Over 200 adults are now able to read.
• Stipends were given to teachers to continue their studies and all have now graduated from high school.
• Built and run a preschool with 30 children enrolled in an area that had none.
• Opened the first high school with a pilot project of 24 students.
• Operate an elementary school.
• Community education courses such as English are held in our seaside rancho empowering our major asset in the    villages - the people!
• Delegations have come to repair, paint, and improve the schools in Nicaragua.
• Delegations provide educational materials for children in need.
• Over 35 students in elementary, high school, and college are sponsored providing them with uniforms, backpacks, and school supplies. 
  
• Students are supported and sponsored for transportation costs.
• A Fulbright student was sent to the University of Washington for 2 years.
• A school bus was donated to transport children to school who otherwise would not be able to attend because of distance.  It was, of course, packed to the hilt!  Meg was one of the drivers.
• Created a Saturday morning tutor group for elementary students.  Attendance is voluntary and most come every week.
